The Texas COVID-19 Electricity Relief Program officially ended on August 31, 2020. The information below provides the history on this program, updates on any disconnection moratoriums due to weather events, and recommendations for electricity service.
Update March 1, 2021: On February 23, 2021, the Public Utility Commission of Texas issued a stoppage (moratorium) on all disconnections for customers who do not pay their power bills. This order follows a spike in power prices that is under investigation with the Texas legislator.
