Energy Texas Customers Transitioned to Discount Power in April 2024

All customer accounts transitioned to Discount Power in late March/early April 2024.
If you are in a contract with Energy Texas, your contract term, rate and contract details transferred to Discount Power. And Discount Power will enforce your early termination fee if you switch away. However, if your Energy Texas contract has expired and you are on a month to month rate, or you are about to expire? We always encourage consumers to price shop and compare rates.

…But Rhythm Energy now owns the Energy Texas Brand
Rhythm Energy acquired the Energy Texas brand name and website. If you visit the Energy Texas website and enter your zip code, they’ll redirect you to Rhythm Energy.
Energy Texas Electricity Plans
When you go to the Energy Texas page, it now shows plans that use the fun names of Energy Texas (i.e. Come & Take It 12, Bigger Than Texas 24) but all of the other details, and your bill, will be from Rhythm Energy.
However, there are many other providers to consider. Your first step in evaluating other providers is probably to check for the cheapest electricity rates in Texas. After all, Energy Texas was very popular due to their low electricity rates.
