    Just Energy Customer Reviews

Just Energy customer reviews are mixed, but lean toward negative. That’s a signal that you should read all the fine print and pay attention to your first bill to make sure it matches your electricity facts label and expectations.

    Overall Customer Satisfaction

Just Energy’s Google Reviews show a 4.2/5 with 7500 reviews. On Consumer Affairs, they score a 1.2/5. Yet, Just Energy’s own site says they have a 4.2 rating from a combination of Google and Consumer Affairs. Just Energy, what’s going on?

Is Just Energy a good company?

Just Energy customer reviews are mixed. Some report excellent customer service, but others complain about overbilling, lack of compassion and aggressive sales tactics. Overall, the company has a 4.2/5 score on Google.

Is Just Energy GoodBundle worth it?

Just Energy upsells consumers on something called GoodBundle. They don’t publish the pricing information on their website, so we went digging. For $9.99/month additional charge on your bill, you’ll get a discount of 0.3¢/kWh on your energy plan, plus 10% off home water filters. Or pay $19.99/month additional fee and get a discount of 0.5¢/kWh on your energy plan, 10% off home water filters, and a waiver for any Just Energy disconnection notice fee. Want to pay even more? You can pay $29.99/month for a full penny discount on your energy plan, and they’ll waive late fees and disconnection charges. (Note: You’ll still get disconnected if you don’t pay your bill, you’ll just get reimbursed the $25 disconnection notice fee.)

So the average consumer using 1000 kWh/month would pay Just Energy nearly an additional penny (0.9¢/kWh) to get a .3¢ discount? That’s still you paying more money every month.

Full stop, don’t sign up for the Just Energy GoodBundle. It’s good for no one, other than Just Energy’s bottom line.

Is Just Energy JustGreen worth it?

Just Energy JustGreen charges a $9.99 monthly charge for 100% green energy for your home. When you purchase JustGreen, Just Energy will purchase Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) on your behalf, to back your energy with renewable power like wind, solar and hydro.

When you pay $9.99/month for JustGreen, that adds 0.9¢/kWh to your average price per kWh, assuming 1000 kWh a month.

You’re better off choosing a low cost provider that includes 100% renewable energy in their plans at no additional charge. Consider Rhythm Energy or Gexa Energy as more affordable options that include 100% renewable energy.

    What Customers Like

Customers like Just Energy’s competitive pricing and referral program. Other reviewers appreciate that they can get a long-term contract.

Just Energy frequently uses in-store enrollment activations at Sam’s Club, HEB, Walmart and other retail locations.
