Bulb entered the US with enthusiasm and high expectations. After all, it served over 1.6 million homes and businesses in the UK, France and Spain. They were the largest provider of renewable energy plans in the UK.
In the Texas market, they suffered because of their unique offer: a month to month 100% renewable electricity plan that let consumers benefit from swings in market pricing, with limited risk. Prices were fixed from June 1 – August 31. But during shoulder seasons, your price would change monthly, with 60 days notice of changes and no early termination fee.
Octopus Energy purchased Bulb UK in 2022. Green Mountain Energy purchased Bulb Texas customers in 2022.
